Down/Out
1 July 2007Down/Out reacted to the netherworld of tramping and poverty evoked in George Orwell’s Down and Out in Paris and London and Jack London’s People of the Abyss. Video clips and projected photographs further explored themes of exploitation and artistic voyeurism.
This ensemble production featured 25 homeless and former homeless participants from Cardboard Citizens’ performing arts workshops. A live soundtrack was provided by the company’s New Music Ensemble, led by Reynaldo Young.
