Led Easy Showcase
16 November 2009A unique chance to see Cardboard Citizens' new Forum Theatre play
For the past ten years, Cardboard Citizens have been touring Forum Theatre shows, performed by actors with experience of homelessness, in London’s hostels and day centres. We are celebrating the tenth anniversary of the tour, which has reached over 10,000 homeless and excluded people.
Forum Theatre allows audience members to join the actors on stage and experiment solutions to the issues encountered by the characters. The technique was created by Brazilian practitioner Augusto Boal who died earlier this year and has worked with Cardboard Citizens since the company's creation.
The showcase is a chance for the general public to see this new play, based on the experiences of Cardboard Citizens’ members, and to give Forum Theatre a try.
Led Easy is an original play by David Watson (Royal Court, Birmingham Rep), who won a childrens' BAFTA in 2008. It is directed by Emma Bernard (Streetwise Opera, Young Vic, Royal Opera House).
Tickets: £5 / £1 for people with experience of homelessness.
Cardboard Citizens members: come to our Members' meeting on the 17th and see LED EASY for free. For more info click here or email Lucy.
