"I’d only seen a theatre play twice in my life before, when I was in school. For me theatre was associated with Shakespeare, I just didn’t relate to that. This play grabbed my attention because it was made from true life stories. When I saw the show, I thought: I could do that, I could be an actor. I went to a drama workshop at Skylight. The people were warm and welcoming, and they weren’t judgemental. The workshops gave me focus and hope when I was at a really low point. They also gave me the chance to be someone else but me for two hours, to put everything aside and mess around..."
Impact: 69 performances in 44 hostels, prisons and day centres; 2 showcases nights; 1,436 audience members including 766 homeless and socially excluded people; 39 people signed up to our support programme.
