Cardboard Citizens’ Artistic Director Adrian Jackson will join Mercury Prize-nominee ESKA as Associate Director of a four-day Brighter Sound creative residency this May.

EskaBrighter Sound is a charity and a producer of creative music projects and events based in Manchester. They champion young and emerging musicians, creating the conditions to enable them to become the innovators and contributors to 21st century music practice.

Adrian will be bringing his expertise in theatre direction and facilitation to this residency; the 8th in Brighter Sound’s ground-breaking Artistic Directors Series. Together ESKA and Adrian will be challenging emerging artists to create socially conscious music in response to the turbulent political landscape.

Working across art forms, 15 talented creatives will collaborate to create new music and performance that will be showcased at Band on the Wall on Sunday 28 May.

Brighter Sound works to support a diverse and equal music industry to provide increased opportunities for emerging musicians to develop their artistic confidence and originality.

If you are interested in taking part in the residency (see leaflet below), applications are now open (deadline 9 April). For more information and to apply visit
