Over six weekly sessions, we will be developing the skills to bring characters from text to life for the camera. Working with Tony Parker’s 1980s book People Of Providence, a collection of accounts from real life people living on a South London council estate, participants will develop Talking Head monologues that will be filmed. At the end of the process you will have:
- Learnt the necessary skills as an actor to develop a character from text
- Created your own monologue
- Experimented with acting techniques for camera
You will also have the opportunity to complete a certificate in English to work towards a Gateway qualification in English Entry Level 3.
