Yoga with Shantha

  • Info

Yoga for All. Stretch and detangle your bodies and minds.

This summer, Cardboard Citizens' Members are invited to join yoga teacher Shantha Roberts for a weekly class suitable for everyone. Here's some more info from Shantha:

"Growing up with my Sri Lankan mother, yoga has always been more to me than an excuse to wear jogging bottoms and do some stretches. It’s like having a cup of tea to sort yourself out – it helps set the world straight again. Of course, yoga is a fantastic way to keep your body healthy and supple, but it also helps take care of so many other aches and pains and physical ailments – from headaches to back pain to digestive problems. Best of all it can make a huge difference to feelings of stress and anxiety, helping to get everything – mind and body – back in balance.

Despite growing up surrounded by people doing sun salutations and downward facing dogs, I’ve only recently become a fully qualified instructor and I’m really keen to practise teaching in the same vein as my mum: yoga is for everyone and should be accessible to everyone. It is inclusive and everyone should be able to enjoy it and feel its benefits, whatever size, shape, age, or fitness level you are."

Yoga is FREE and runs on Wednesdays from 3 May from 6pm to 7.15pm at Cardboard Citizens HQ. You don't need to have had any previous yoga experience: the class will be suitable for all levels.

Please wear comfortable, loose clothing; jogging bottoms or leggings are perfect. You will do the class in bare feet but bring some socks along just in case!

Call us on 0207 377 8948 or email matt@cardboardcitizens.org.uk or flora@cardboardcitizens.org.uk to book your place or refer someone to us.

Please note: These classes are for Members only. For information on how to become a Member, click here.
