Last week our Programme Delivery Manager, Effie Makepeace and our Director of Projects, Tony McBride attended the Inspiring Curiousity conference at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry. The Inspiring Curiousity conference marked the 50th anniversary of Theatre in Education and brought together a range of practitioners and academics to discuss the role of theatre within education and learning in the future. The conference featured provocations from young people's theatre groups across the country and raised questions through speech, song, film and theatre, leading to interesting debates amongst the delegates.

Effie and Tony were presenting on our forthcoming young people's project, Meta, a forum theatre piece that will tour schools in Tower Hamlets exploring the development of the teenage brain and the affect this can have on thoughts, feelings and behaviours. They invited feedback and thoughts from an audience of Theatre in Education practitioners as the project enters it's next stage of development.

The team will be also be presenting on Meta on the 7th January at the Association Science Education conference where we will be giving a CPD session to teachers about how knowledge of neuroscience of the teenage brain can help when teaching.
