Cardboard Citizens offers our Members regular opportunities to take part in our workshop programme – a range of workshop, training and performance activities. Working with professional and experienced facilitators from Cardboard Citizens, as well as leading practitioners from the wider theatre sector, you can develop your skills in theatre related art forms including:

  • Acting
  • Dance
  • Writing for Performance
  • Music
  • Stand-up comedy
  • Clowning
  • Forum Theatre

We also run a number of ‘Hot Topics’ sessions where we will ask you what you would like to learn, what issues matter to you and what you would like the workshop programme to look like.We welcome Members thoughts and ideas about what they would like to see in the programme and offer regular opportunities to feed these in throughout the year.

Workshops are offered at a range of levels to suit all experiences:

Community – workshops to suit everyone, for all levels of experience. This is the chance to come and give it a go, try something new and see how you feel.

Advanced – for those who have already done a number of workshops with us. This is the opportunity to build on the skills you have developed through the programme and beyond.

Outreach – aimed at reaching more people with our work. These workshops will be focused in hostels and day centres.

All our workshops are free and open to anyone with lived experience of homelessness. We will also cover all reasonable travel expenses.

The workshop programme runs throughout the year and there will be up to date information on the What’s On page, so check here to see what’s happening and when.  So, do take a closer look and come and engage – you may get more out of it than you think!
